A crochet youtuber I've been watching for a while (ComplicatedKnots) does a 12 Days of Crochet series every December. This is the first year I get to actually do it because I know how to crochet now. I didn't prepare for it or anything so my colors are a bit wonky. These are also easily the most complex patterns I've done thus far, but I'm hoping this builds my skills. Anyway it's making my mornings very exciting because I get to wake up and see what's next!! And the community aspect of it is very fun.
Day 1: Squirrel
My first attempt at a pattern by ComplicatedKnots. I get now why she calls herself that!! But this one is super cute and I think it's my favorite so far. It took me a bit over an hour I think. I decided not to change the posing at all because I like the tail position how it is.

Day 2: Raccoon
I messed up a lot on this one!! He's not supposed to have such a big head tilt. Or any head tilt at all. But it's still cute. Also I didn't originally intend to do the x mouth but it started happening by accident and I kept going.

Day 3: Raven
Took me probably about two hours. I was contemplating whether to place the eyes back one stitch further to make it look 'cuter' but I ended up going with more realism. I think it turned out cute overall still. The feet on mine are a little messed up though.

Day 4: Walrus
Easiest one so far. I had to use pink because I have no brown. I also ran out of yarn tails and I'm trying to stick with cotton only, so I stuffed half of him with old cotton t shirt scraps.

Day 5: Fox
Def took the most long so far. I messed up on the tail and kinda freehanded it but I like it. I also like the expression on its little face. The color changes were fun for me. I decided to make his body less long by squashing it with a tightened piece of yarn on the inside. His face is a little crooked and I might fix it later by embroidering the red over the white on one side.

Day 6: Octopus
Halfway done! This is the first pattern where I didn't mess up the stitch count and have to add a random increase or decrease, which is surprising because there was one very very long row. It also felt pretty quick. I had a pretty easy time with this one. Also I love this pattern. I don't know if I did it justice but I think it's cute.

Day 8: Rat
The nose gave me a lot of trouble because I kept thinking it looked like lips lol. But I think I fixed it. Anyway I love him. 4 more to go only

Day 9: Chameleon
I only had a little bit of my variegated yarn and CK suggested I do color changes in rows with the green. I tried to make the changes kinda splotchy to mimic the wavy stripes some chameleons have. I love color changing so I had fun with this one. I wish I did the eye stitches in the variegated color though to make the eyes pop.

Day 10: Goat
I painted the eyes with a paint pen and I added the gray because I hate my white yarn. Also I figured it would make the dark color look more ok (I don't have brown).

Day 11: Bear
This is one of the cutest patterns I think. Mine ended up with a giant head tilt but it kinda works. (That's what I get for not using a stitch marker)

Day 12: Elephant
I got into a flow state with this one. Very cute pattern as always. That's a wrap on the 12 days. Goodbye to my new morning routine..
