Joining the "indie web" is right up my alley, given I have spent most of my life on it, in the sense that I always seem to frequent at least one small website at a time.

Manyland

I found this website from a tiny link at the bottom of a page on the Bored Button. Changed my life. I grew up on this thing and had my siblings join me. At one point we had a whole community of cats with some randoms and we built a giant world together over the course of a couple years. There was drama, destruction, reconstruction, and towards the end, we had a little historical preservation society. I said hi to one of the members a few years ago on their deviantart profile, but otherwise, those connections are lost to time. Towards the end of the site's lifespan, the only world where you could find people was Starbucks (which hadn't been updated in years). I just find that funny for some reason. Anyway, I aspire to create something similar one day.
RIP Manyland, you will be missed. By me at least.
P.S. I am forever grateful to the people who created backups and places to view them (ie here). I didn't get to back up my profile and worlds but a lot of my stuff was saved. Ty <3

Epicmafia / Ultimafia
This is one of those enduring small Internet communities. I know epicmafia was kinda big back in the day. Maybe at least one person will read this who used to play. In which case you should let me know, because that would be cool. I was active from 2016-2018ish, and was on a few times after but not much. I missed a whole era where it was alive again after it died (which is when I left originally) because I had no idea. Then I also missed another era where everyone was on Beyondmafia, which I vaguely knew about but didn't know was active either. And I missed the first year or so of Ultimafia.
Of course it's more about the game, but it's fun seeing familiar faces (figuratively) every time I play. (Not to mention.. I really suck at this game LOL) I feel I need something like this in my life at all times, and right now, this is it, and I'm happy to see things like this are still around even when the Internet is overrun by bots and everyone goes on the same like 3-4 social media sites.

Transformice
I found this in a weird way. I was at this summer camp thing when I was like 10-11 (not a real camp, just one you go to every day). I saw this girl near me playing this game and I looked it up later because I thought it looked fun and it had mice in it. I then played on and off for many years. But it's been a while now. When I went to get these screenshots of my outfits, I saw it was still active (at least a little?), so I may play again. My favorite things to do were play Survivor and go to the village when that came out. I still remember I used to have a fake gf on there (you could do that thing where you choose your partner lol) named Splashkrita. And I was in a mini friend group with her and someone else whose name I am blanking on.
